Even though he is helping them, there are doubts thrown his way. I read this part of the book waiting for him to turn on them. That was frustrating. I still am in the dark completely of what is going on. Then the ending was surprising. Gabriel is faced with his first trial and it is heartbreaking. Rose finds herself where she never thought she would be. I was pretty disgusted with how things ended. Aug 01, Michelle N rated it really liked it. This is book can not be read with out first reading Forbidden. There are so many pieces to the puzzle and a lot of unanswered questions.
I feel that in order to fully appreciate Reckoning, you must read Redemption. With that being said, it does keep your attention and leaves you guessing. Jan 26, Laura Martinez rated it it was amazing. This series has just keeps getting better and better! Such a fast pace read, with lots of action and guessing on who to trust and not to.
Big twist at the end! The narrator in the audiblebook is fantastic and I recommend it as well. Jan 23, Jennifer Manix rated it it was amazing. This is not my typical read, but I really have enjoyed this series. I couldn't wait to see what happened next so I had to buy all the books at once.
I loved the characters and I got so involved, it was hard to see anything happened to any of them. Aug 15, Katie Skillman rated it it was ok. It is jumbled and moves from characters pov to the other. Aug 28, Carrie Marshall rated it really liked it. It's still not the good romance I'm waiting for.

I feel it. It's somewhere, but this author sure likes wars, blood, and violence! Still moving onto 3rd book. Must know ending now. Jul 09, Sandy rated it really liked it. Good, but it is part of a series. It ends with your need to definitely continue reading on and it starts without some key information from the first book. Awesome Can't wait to read Redemption. This book kept me wanting more and more is what I got. Awesome book ever!!! Feb 13, Allie rademacher rated it it was ok Shelves: fresh-start , e-book. This book started by breaking my heart and it ended with shattering it into tiny pieces.
I hated how the monks attacked Rose to get to Gabriel and when she crawled over to him and laid her head on his chest right before they took him from her the tears were flowing so much I couldn't see the words to read any further. I don't like how Nicolae thinks she is such a monster when she has shown him over and over again that she could be around humans and not attack but then finally he begins to see This book started by breaking my heart and it ended with shattering it into tiny pieces.
I don't like how Nicolae thinks she is such a monster when she has shown him over and over again that she could be around humans and not attack but then finally he begins to see her differently and even gives her his blood to rid her body of poison and then we have William, I was so hurt how he lashed out at Rose and not recognizing her as a friend anymore. Then what Rose had to do next to convince Sadie to go back to Chicago was so hard to read because you know it was one of the most difficult things she ever had to do and I was still not happy with William's reaction to her.
It was great seeing Rose and Nicolae call a truce and team up to go find Gabriel.
Evermore, an Arotas novella by Amy Miles - Read Online
I liked how the author went back and forth between Rose and Gabriel so we could keep track of where they both were and what they both were doing. It was hard reading how much pain Gabriel was in when his body was still changing and he was missing Rose so much. I loved watching Rose use her "pull" to get them a place to stay and here Nicolae falls under this spell also, it was funny her having to fight him off and remind him of who they each were. I did get frustrated after reading about Gabriel suffering over and over again in that tiny room and then not knowing what he was doing there.
I was excited that Fane was going to be joining the story and what happens at the Torrent is difficult to read because there is some disturbing bodily injury described but at the same time it was a great part of the book because of the end result. Then enters this new character to the story, Malachi and right away I don't trust him but she goes with him just because he mentions being able to help her find Gabriel. Here and there how the author writes about Rose and Malachi's interactions I was afraid she was going to have them get together which would have killed me.
Over the next chapters we learn more about the past, some hidden revelations, and the prophecy. We get to meet some interesting people and Gabriel leaves with them to start on his quest which we read some details about here and there throughout the book. As the story progresses I become more and more suspicious of Malachi. Just as Rose thinks she is going to get ready to move out and start hunting for Gabriel again she gets news that tears her apart. Rose has to face Vladimir, I had a bad feeling about this, I just knew something terrible was going to happen in this battle.
When they finally are in front of Vladimir it was awful how he treated people she loved but man did she kick butt lol. I don't want to spoil some of the best parts of this book so all I will say from this part forward is that my emotions ranged from being super scared, proud, happy even for just a second, angered, rage, then feeling pure devastation, and finally the last emotion I felt was despair.
I can't wait to read the next book but wow this one was so good. Feb 26, Tara rated it liked it Shelves: Have you ever watched a tv show and been really into the main characters and plot line? And then every once and awhile they go off onto other characters and plot lines and even though you know 3.
Forbidden (Book 1, The Arotas Trilogy) by Amy Miles
And then every once and awhile they go off onto other characters and plot lines and even though you know they will all related back to each other eventually, it feels like those times drag? And the fact that he was not with Rose through this book meant that we would have to get separate parts of the story when we panned over to his POV, but for me those parts of the story dragged a little bit. On the flip side, I really enjoyed following Rose along in this book.
There was enough action to keep the storyline moving and enough drama to keep me interested. I know we are all supposed to love Gabriel but I was happy to see how her relationship not romantic develop with Nicolae. I also love Fane, poor guy! I felt like we got to see more of her personality and the tough, badass chick she can be in this book. I definitely felt more connected to her this time. We definitely got a higher dose of the paranormal in this book vs.
We also got a look at life as an immortal, and you can see why she wants to be normal so badly. The twist and cliffhanger at the end definitely left me wanting more of this series! Oct 01, Althea rated it really liked it Shelves: oct-yearly-challenge , venturing-out. Oh my freaking immortal infested world! I want to simultaneously scream and cry at this book.
Just like the first in the trilogy, Reckoning sucked me right into its pages. I did manage to take some breaks from it just to save my sanity, but those breaks weren't long. I could write a novel about what I think, but most of my sentiments are the same concerning the first book so I will not reiterate my review for it since it will be pretty much the same. Well we finally see what becomes of our Oh my freaking immortal infested world!
Well we finally see what becomes of our characters and we finally know more about Gabriel and what he is. I will say that I was surprised at the new additions of creatures, but I got used to it the further I read. What I really liked about Reckoning was the increase of action. There was a lot of weapon wielding, head bashing, body slashing, and of course blood spilling. There was not a lot of romance building in this book, but I think it served well for the plot line.
We do get introduced to new characters and old ones have re-emerged.

There is a fragile truce that has been made, bonds that have been mended, and bonds that have been severed. Now the reader is left wondering what the hell is going to happen to Gabriel and Roseline respectively. And what the hell is going to become of the rest of the group?
